Angry Little Squirrel

What a cutie she is!

Angry Little Squirrel
 
 
Its spring and all God’s creatures are busy scurrying around.
They’re out looking for nourishment that can now be found.
Food is top on their list so they can feed their young.
Scampering to and fro and licking their little tongues.
 
When anyone went outside or someone got to near.
An angry little squirrel, squealed and snapped mostly out of fear,
They thought for sure the little squirrel had gone completely mad.
But getting closer to the angry squirrel they started to feel bad.
 
This little squirrel was having babies & they would soon be here.
No wonder she was acting crazy, when people got too near.
So they put food out for her, and she quickly settled down.
Now she lets them observe her, not angry when they’re around.

I have a specific squirrel-feeder on big oak tree, just out my ceiling-to-floor kitchen window (and readily see through sliding glass door in my office), that brings many squirrels daily. They scamper 'round and 'round the tree, seeing who can get at the feeder first! There are four out there as I read this. And your right, Bonnie...mothers-soon-to-be are very protective! Thank you dear friend; love this poem...nature is so beautiful!

...angry...with reason...would give protection of coming newborn...meaning.

A squirrel came every morning to collect the nuts that we left inside the hanging bird-feeding little house and delighted us with the acrobatics that scared the heck of few small birds coming to breakfast. (why don't put them in the ground you ask? don't be daft, then we wouldn't had our private Cirque du Soleil for ourselves)

Ain't nothin' worse than a pissed off squirrel! LOL Delightful write; and mama knows how to defend herself and her babies! Good on her!
