You’d Have it All

Material things are so important to some.
If they don’t have an object, they really want one.
I agree that material things are nice to own.
But they pale in comparison to love in your home.

I could be happy in a little old shack,
If I had love, someone watching my back.
Someone to hold me when life was unkind.
Someone to be there with me, during a bind.

You’d be surprised at what you could do without.
Food is one thing, you wouldn’t be as stout.
You wouldn’t need a TV, computer or phone.
If you had the right person sharing your home.

You would actually feel sorry for those with so much.
For they have no idea the feeling of that unique touch.
They might even envy you for the love you share.
For you’d have it all, with your love sitting there.

They say that a man's house is his castle, that king living there most be some kind of king!
The poem otherwise, is a well thought lashed to any lazy brain.

I can't even afford that old back woods shack, but could I maybe rent the outhouse, then I can sublet the place for those who need to use it...;-) e

All we need to do is count the blessings around us, not counting treasures that have no meaning...well done, Bonnie, love that house. Wouldn't mind living there, as long as there was a basement, under. LOL

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem. I can relate to your message as love, not "things", is what makes for true happiness. Keep writing such wonderful prose.

You are right, Bonnie!!! I know a few super rich people (not my friends) that are very lonely and very very unhappy, the ones they want to have aren't interested in them, and yet the ones they didn't want throw themselves on them in dozen.

Sad indeed!!!
