Oh the stories they could tell.

Poem Artwork

Scars Have Stories

The numerous scars on me tell their own stories.
Some tell of humor, some exciting and some are gory.
Each and everyone of them has something real to say,
About the day they first appeared, on a very painful day.

Those scars I hardly ever pen, nor like to even mention.
It’s those scars inside of me that need my sole attention.
The ones that tear my heart apart and torture my weary mind.
These are the ones I pen, they’re always so effortless to find.

When I write them down on paper, the release is actually swift.
Releasing them is freedom & the liberty will make my spirits lift.
If I wouldn’t release them, the pain would be totally unbearable.
And I would never heal inside, for they would be incurable.

Don’t keep those scars inside of you for they will never die.
Talk to friends and loved ones, go on give it an honest try.
You will feel so liberated when you finally let them out.
In fact, you may do a dance, or sing or you may even shout.

You offer very good advice in your verses here, Bonnie. Thank you. Love and blessings to you,

Bonnie,

Excellent write. If felt your pain through the entire poem. Sometimes it's not good to keep things bottled up inside. Perhaps the scars you never pen, you should.

Hi Bonnie, scars are very mysterious sometimes as well as painful.I agree that it is important that we talked about our scars to our love ones and friends.I'll admit that sometimes people are very judgemental and all they want to do is look down at their noses at someone and make them feel like an outcast. Its important for people to have an open-mind and also its important for people to release their scars and be able to talk to people about their problems.I enjoy reading this poem and the important message that it sends.Take care.Love and hugs always

Another extremely sage piece, Dr. Bonnie. No wonder my Jersey brother likes you better than Dr. Phil.

You're right, Bonnie, we must talk about our hurts, our scars, or it will eat us up, inside. And then think about Jesus: the scars He bore, for you ... for me. As Karen (below) said, our suddenly don't seem so significant. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

That piccy makes me cringe! *OW* I can't imagine the pain He must have gone through, to save us from our sins! All of a sudden, my own scars don't seem nearly as bad! Great write, Bonnie; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

No angel yet......
