The Letter

The Letter There was a time when I believed words spoke truth. I thought humanity mandated them not to be abused. As years passed I observed language turn into deception or was my perception obscured by emotions? Words emphasized silently seared endorphins to exploit feelings of various states. Each, could be taken to levels beyond intent and often, alter events. Wearing the cloak of your pen I closed my eyes to undefined words, and silently prayed for knowledge. Copyright 2004 Tracey L. Excellent. It's hard to understand what someone really means. It's harder still to get a letter where someone says something that they don't really mean at all. Poetry can help us heal.

Something I'm known to say often is this: "The written word is left to the interpretation of both the sender and the receiver." (a Tami-ism, if you will.)

Tracey,Beautifully written and so true! So often, we are
faced with the expectation that we can read minds.
I fail to understand why things can't be said outright
so we can know for sure what is said! word play isn't
always fun!luv the art!;-)
