The phone rang
an angel cried
voices tried
to say a final goodbye.
Wings crashed
buildings quaked,
911 responded
would it be to late?
Those trapped
regained faith
those who didn’t
took a leap of fate.
Flames burned,
metal crushed,
dust bellowed
to a silent hush.
Eyes watched
with dismay and sorrow
thoughts raged
of future tomorrows.
Hands joined
a nation stood still,
prayers were whispered
for those souls killed.
United We Stand
divided we fall
to conquer evil
we must “all” stand tall.
(God, please have mercy, save us all!)

Tracey,
this is a difficult thing to write the emotional side of. I have not been able to do it myself. I work 20 miles from Shanksville, Pa. You express greatly the events. That is an awesome write. Thanks for sharing.
Traci, this is an excellent write! I am working on a piece about God and this country and why when it was founded on religous freedom we are now fighting to keep the phrase "one nation under God" in the pledge of alligance. Well done. God bless you!! Tim
