Changing moods and changing thoughts. Wonderful Tracy, The meaning, no matter how you read them are the same. We all face them.

Sometimes all I want, is to run!
A 100 miles in the opposite direction
Sometimes all I want, is to run!
like a bat out of hell
Sometimes all I want, is to run!
screaming at the top of my lungs
Sometimes all I want, is to run!
saying words I would never speak.
Yes i see what you mean how this fits all different ways
i tried it backwards but then i couldn't see the screen

Yes it can Tracey! You started me off with
the portrait. The portrait to me is a
presence shattered. All broken up. But as
she runs ... the poem changes to fulfillment,
to lonliness, to the thought that life is a
fantasy and running avoids it. ?? I hope I
am close somewhere in here. But you are
right. Everyone will see it differently,
and some like myself may see things that
aern't there. Isn't this what good poetry
does? It is explicit and easy to read and
enjoy, yet in its simplicity lies its
complexities. Some writers here are very
complex but thoroughly misunderstandable.
They seem to love to wite to confuse and vex
the mind. You write clearly and achieve
what they cannot. They cannot communicate.
Their complexities presented only clouds
their poems, and many will say to them that
the poem is wonderful ... without the
slightest idea what the poet is talking
about. But you have advanced far beyond
their talented but very rudimentary skills.
Everyone should read and analyse this poem.
Maybe they will learn how to advance to a
more meaningful level in their work. I know
I will. Good poetry communicates, not
obfuscates, and this is good poetry.

I read it standing on one foot with my mouth open and then standing on the other foot with my mouth closed and your right, too entirely different meanings.
South Baltimore serves as the backdrop for this gripping story of three brothers leading very different lives but joined forever by the secrets of a painful family past.
