Reflections of Dreams

As a child I dreamed

 of love,

a knight in shinning armor

As a child I reached

 for the stars

and traveled into galaxies

As a teenager I fell

 in love

 for the 1^st time

and became breathless by the 1^st kiss

As a teenager I tested

 the waters

and learned to swim or drown.

As a young woman I struggled

 to achieve my dreams

and learned the price one pays for decisions.

As an older women I realized

 to never to ponder

into the wasteland of yesterdays dreams.
