When joy deserts...celestial pleasures are there for the taking..

Poem Artwork

 Celestial Pleasures

When joy deserts,

Celestial pleasures fill the void.

A soft, sable sky of Starlight

enchants my saddened soul

with twinkling playfulness..

Mamma Moon's maternal gaze

offers benevolent succour

soothing worn and weary spirits..

Mellow Moonbeams play happy melody

on hopeful Heartstrings.

A galaxy and feast of exquisite contentment.

Equilibrium returns...Gladness....PEACE.....

WHEN I WAS HOMELESS SOME YEARS AGO, I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES I PEERED OUT OF THE WINDOW OF THE SHELTER AND RECEIVED THE ...PEACE...THAT YOU SPEAK ABOUT, WHICH ONLY HIS CELESTIAL PLEASURES COULD BESTOW. THERE 'HE' WAS, REAL AND WATCHING OVER ME! IT'S JUST MIRACULOUS HOW 'HE' TOUCHES AND ENCOURAGES AND CALMS...IN EVERY WAY, IF WE WOULD ONLY LOOK TO HIM. INDEED, SUCH A SOOTHING AND HOPEFUL SHARING, DIANA...THANK YOU SO MUCH! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

I really liked this one. Whenever I feel overwhelmed and alone, all I need to do is go outside and look up at the stars. Sincerely, Corrine Ardoin

Starry Starry Night comes to mind when one contemplates the universe unfolding on a clear night sky and sadness overwhelm us with its cold brightness. Your poem really got me thinking…

Diana

When we are disappointed by our fellow human beings or perhaps a potential relationship has failed, we can turn to the many beauties that nature offers to soothe our bruised soul. I love your use of alliteration in this piece...soft, sable sky of Starlight...saddened soul...Mamma Moon's maternal gaze...worn and weary...Mellow Moonbeams...hopeful Heartstrings. Your poetry is always so tender.

Hugs

David

Lots of salvation in this poem, settling into a quieting finish. I think the idea of 'joy deserting us' is pretty descriptive. Perfect image for this poem, Diana. ~~ Diana

Many have written verses and verses about celestial beings but this take is simply the best and true why we turn to them leaving all that we have behind!! This is sure coming from the heart and I can feel itJK

Celestial Pleasures is a very good title, I think, Diana. It is what drew me to your poem, which is a wonderful celebration of finding release from earthly sorrows in the clear contemplation of the heavens.

An absolutely delightful poem, Diana, and one that explains completely where we can look for the uplifting there is in the celestial heavens. Cool write.
