This is such a peaceful poem. I could read it time after time. It reminds me of the relaxation music we listen to in order to calm our anxiety and mind and relieve our distress. You also raise a question I have wrestled with for a number of years. I believe we are born with a free will to make our own choices in this life. At the same time, God is omniscient; He is all-knowing. Therefore, He knows the choices we will make. So, if He knows the choices we are going to make, then He controls (perhaps I should say, “He knows”) our destiny. As you can see, Diana, I am still confused. But as you well know, I dwell in the state of confusion about many things in life. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your poem immensely.

Very nicely done, when I read your words I immediately went back in time to the days of my youth when the most stress we seemed to have had was getting money, wheels and a girl to be with...now so many complications that bombard the youth in so many different directions.

I believe it is destiny to be born by the sea and grow up there. Just as I was destined to be born in the upper Midwest very far from the sea. It was only in my 20s when my wanderlust got me to all of the coasts of North America, east, south, and west.

Nice to visit in poetic dreams, but I would choose not to live there.

Lovely poem that raises an interesting question. I personally believe that we live a destiny within a destiny; in other words, we have a certain fixed destiny (male/female, where we are born and into what family, etc., which is fixed, no choice there. But once we are born into the bubble of our destiny, it's all about the choices that we make to shape our own individual destiny. So, destiny within destiny, sounds like the makings of a poem.
