ONE MORE KNOCK...

As if life hadn't thrown me enough

Stress pain and self blame

She had to knock once more

Mother nature calling

I'd heard her call before

What can i do for you today?

I asked in earnest

Get down on your knees and pray

You haven't obeyed the laws of nature

You've wasted each and every day

Sleeping in your bed

Might as well be a coffin

You're not dead!

Get up get dressed

I heard her scoffing.

Live, laugh and breathe

Don't just fall victim to

circumstance

Slowly festering and seethe

Put on a smile

And go out in the sun

Face your obstacles

One by one

Oh please! i cry

I've had enough

I can't do it

Just let me lie

Life's been too tough

I'm not that strong

I know i've done wrong

And i've repented it seems

My whole life long

I've talked too much

I've hurt some feelings

I've fallen to sloth

And laziness

Not followed my goals

Or made amends

I just want to sleep

go away

But mother nature

Had to have her say.

As she pushed

Through my curtain

Her bright sun ray

The wind whipped

my door bell rang

The dawn chorus

Of birds sang

Oh the noise she made!

I got out of bed

And dressed lest she stayed

Got down on my knees ...

I prayed

And gave thanks for the day

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
