Hope to have a little present ready . .such as 't'will be. . .in form of a poem about the Christmas village my son gave me. Meantime, having run across a shockingly unprofessional 'review' of a poem posted at the Den, I felt it was important to comment. Got carried away. Quel surprise!

Tack Away and Mend {re Torpedoing 'Reviews' }
 
Any sailor can tell you:  Gotta keep a sharp eye.
Torpedoes are made to sneak.  Subs dive,
then lie in wait.  Not their fault.  Didn'  build
themselves, did they?  Now, as for the human
variety, who knows?   For most of us, Choice
signposts alternate routes.  Usually decide on
Grow.  To go slow and rescue upended
boaters.  Sail and row to build mind and
muscle.  Check out the scene as we troll.
Gotta bail, gotta bail.  Weather will turn,
count on it.  Calm, smooth as glass, not
a sound, sudden roar, rock and roll!  Hear
even the weakest  breeze  riffle,  hear
a dolphin click fathoms below.  Feel
the spray set your skin atingle,  blink
sun spots from newly opened eyes.  True
salt now!  Aye!   Not about to get caught
expecting periscopes before torpedoes
shark.  Understand  the human type
arms with words filed needle sharp.  
Point mustn't  be allowed to pierce. --Best
defense?   Discipline bound to humor. . .
no,  mates.  Together, spot and disarm.
Next step:  stud a plank  with phrases
only a real writer can lay down.  Make
the blackbeard tramp all the way to
the end, take a look.  Whisper,  Gee,
looks deep.  Better take care, huh.
Look back and see the sea took care
to wash every hurtful word.    AHOY!!
