complete with smiley
or asterisked frown.
Instead, John and Jane
alike reduce
to bits, then bytes
snaps to delete.
"Rid yourself forever,
see manual online.".
Machines tell us
Sit, we Sit. Tell us
Stay, we Stay. Alas,
I am no different.
Still, there are times
when the old way
reaches out. Like
yesterday. I
ordered a whole box
of Ticonderoga's.
Fooling myself? Hoping
to feel back in school,
bored and excited
all at once? I will use
the writing sticks,
if only for Crostics,
but I confess I fell
for smooth and popular
and fast. Were I writing
this in pencil, technically,
I could erase. Trouble
is, I wear them away.

when you need it?

Love this one, like all the rest. I write with pen and paper to begin with and then I have to type it in. I think they call that data entry. And then I have to run off a copy and have it in my hands to really see the words and their impact. So, don't throw away your ticondorogas. Excellent write. Liz

But never leave home without a BALLPOINT PEN - feel naked in its absence. Even do my NYT X-words in ink - no erasing there, some of the messiest puzzles you ever did see -
but I do it MY WAY!
Another great write Phyliss and I won't give up my pencil and paper.It took me too many years to learn to neatly write always making sure others could read it. Thank you for sharing yet another smile.
Another capture of a subject that you have done well with. I agree with Gene, there is still a lot to be said for a sharp pencil, and eraser and a clean page and lets not forget all them crumpled up wads in the waste basket that were always our proof that we'd been working.
