If trees should weep
would i hear their tears
above the world's fast spinning?
Where the scurry and flurry
of life's every day
belies the fast short
flit of me -
But a blink of an eye
as i skim past by
their longer watch
of the seasons turning -
And when i've sung
all the songs i could
in the shortest breath
that they barely heard
Perhaps they'll weep
for me?

The 'history' (so far) of If Trees: If Trees has been read on several radio stations, both in the US and UK (Including BBC Radio). It has appeared as a limited print edition in two art exhibitions in England and California, USA) and was on permanent display in 'Poets Cafe', Clevedon, England, until the Poet Cafe's recent closure.
Clevedon has many historic associations with a number of poets and writers, which includes: Charles Abraham Elton, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Elizabeth Siddal, William Makepeace Thackeray, Rupert Brooke, C.S. Lewis and Sir John Betjeman. Finally, If Trees is David Taub's most often published poem, appearing in a number of magazines, newspapers and books, including Language of Souls.

Hi David,
Being a beginner to poetry,I had difficulty on lines 3 and four. eg Above fast spinning world
---Where scurry and flurry ----is how I would have written it
But I have only been writing six months.
I still have no idea what a poem is,
having never read any in I my entire life,I got a bit of a shock to see how modern poetry relates to my preconceived idea on the subject,
Hope you dont mind,being self taught I learn by asking questions
