A life well lived, many mountains climbed and cheered; then back to earth where some laugh and others don't..

Some days I wonder...

Some days I wonder when the tide will change
If there is some way life can be rearranged
There used to be the days filled with goodness
Now every day I pray for His assuredness

Every morning when I wake, I smile and pray for this day
To be more peaceful, I want so much to laugh and play
Then the phone rings; with no good news to spread
It's been like this forever, it's another mountain that I dread

The days, the weeks, the years have mounted
When joys were many and life was well worth counted
It seems that many days my chest fills heavy with lead
While I keep smiling, forcing myself not to go to bed

On the surface I am bold, with many wonders left to be told
Yet now I see only day to day, and it isn't because I am old
Once upon a time I knew that life was mine to conquer
I lived it full and well, and when it rained, I found shelter

What happened to those times when I could laugh
While those I loved knew my life was lived on their behalf
I fight each day with smiles and courage, or what matters
As I look around my world, every drop is torn and tattered

Not that I feel sorry for myself, at least I hope not
The fighter in me, won't lie still, I stand again, without
Why do I keep trying, my heart and head ask so often
Someday I pray that the answer will somehow soften

Why does my chest hurt til the pain seeps thru my being
Will today bring something nice to overshadow leaving
Depression hurts, this I know, but this is something else
It's more like life has bruised and beaten, lost is self

Pretending things will change is now unreasonable it seems
To think that living right and giving love would soon bring
The same in kind, but that is not how life deals its sting
Don't know if there is left that drop of want it can't sing

To put the words to paper cannot fill the void I say
Just praying that in some way, it lifts me, so I will stay
Bold and Brave, yet empty and spent
Wonder what this lifes purpose even meant

We all wonder from time to time what's it all about, but you are a strong woman who understands...in the inner core of your being, you are well indeed, blessings Holly

I used to wish that the Lord would take away the mountain I was climbing and just let me go into a valley for a while... or at least reach a plateau...but in His quiet way, He taught me that the path to Him is up...not down...and not on level ground.

I believe that each day is a blessing and should be lived to the fullest. Worrying about yesterday and tomorrow will not help any. tomorrow will come and go and it will be a yesterday.

Linda we all have our valleys and when we pass through them, we begin to realize the goodness of the Lord God and we see the gifts he has given us in allowing us to get passed those valleys

Stop wondering-It will make you crazy-things are as they are.
Pretend there is no past-and no future. Take the day you have and run with it!

As Eileen says, we all wonder at times but do we really want it to change. We accept what has come our way and trudge on. Thank you for sharing.

We all wonder the same at times Linda! I think the saying
"it is what it is" sums it up. In the meantime we put one
foot in front of the other.hope and pray we can manage, til we
get to the next life, where the answers are!

Love,
Eileen

Les, you are so right...and the "This too shall pass" has been my personal Mantra thruout my life...as I close my eyes and see my precious Savior on that cross....but sometimes, things just go in cycles...ups and downs...and darn it...the downs can sure last a long time it seems! hehe....
Sandie you are indeed an angel that always reaches out to me,and I thank you for caring. So many go thru depression, yet often it's just not always "DEPRESSION" but just that the struggle has lasted a little longer than it should...and weakness settles in... I value your offer, and return the favor to you as well.. That is what is so wonderful about having so many AD friends....
Bonnie... You know how I love you and look forward to your beautiful words and encouragement too... I do know that life is just that...LIFE...and at my age, believe me...I know that these are just trying times....guess with the age however...things become more difficult because we know that time is passing by and we can't waste the precious time we are living in..... :-))
I do tend to write about things that are personal, in one way or another...but sometimes...believe it or not...my work isn't always about me... hehe.... Lindalaw

((((( Linda )))))

I'm so sorry to learn that you are feeling depressed. I had the same question too when my parents passed away, like what is the purpose in my life. I almost gave up writing and everything. This feelings will pass, soon you will realize that your children and your grandchildren love you and you can enjoy them too. There is life around you.

I know I'm the last one to give advice on depression, but I know I'm feeling better than I was a few months back. You are even more luckier than me, because you have grandchildren. Feel free to write to me if you need to talk about something.

You keep trying because it isn't in you to quit...you are a strong woman my friend most people would have given up a long time ago, Not you, no not you, you not only pull yourself up by the boots straps you pull others up as well. That's why your here my dear friend, that's why your here. Love and hugs, Bonnie
