This poem is from my debut YA novel: Quest for the Other Kingdom/The First Book of Journeys. The poem is introduced with these words: A toothless crone with stick-thin legs and gray hair knotted at the nape of her wrinkled neck listened as if paying little attention the ramblings of men who had outlived their purpose and now spent their days reinventing the past.
This scene occurs when Brae gets in trouble at the Port of Plenty.

There's others that's come this way before

To mend their boats and refill their stores.

They gave us more than they took from us

And the King of the Kingdom of Adawm it was

That sent them here and gave us the heart

To fill up their boats and to do our part

To get them along on their merry way

To the Other Kingdom without delay.

But to those that comes to take our best

With their own uncaring selfishness

A curse I say! A double one, too,

And if you don't like it--a curse on you!

There's foul afoot: I seen the beast

Flying high in the sky when we was a feast.

Happy he's not, trouble is sure.

He's heading, I think, for the Valley of E'ure.

Where once a time, yes, long ago,

He was beat at this game, but doesn't know.

So after this boy, I am sure that he is,

For the King has called, but it is not yet His.

Safe it is not, this boy from the ship,

For the Folk in the Port are no matter to it

Sleeping away the last of the night.

If you listen to me you will send it aflight.

Trouble will come an' I say it ain't long

For this boy--it ain't no friend of Immon.
