Poem Artwork

Through my years
I've shed more
Then my share
Of tears...

Tears that allowed me
To see beauty
When other's
Could not

Tears of happiness
Short and sweet
Allowing passage
To my mind-only one at a time

Through my years
I had infinite words
To convey
Still---

Have trouble
To this day
Trusting those
Who seek entrance to my soul

This brims with emotion, and oh shared confidences are scary as you write, but they do at least let us know who is a true friend, who is for true.
Many Blessings,
Christine

They can sure be some, sticky, gooey leftovers. ;-)

Tears when others cannot see is a sign of a sensitive soul.

There were years Deborah I could not shed tears
For those very same issues called trust
I had such a wall built to protect my soul
Tears were something I only shed for others
happiness and beauty I saw, but never for my
own suffering. It took years to allow anyone
into my world. Actually only in the past
seven I suppose you could say do I let very few
in. I agree with Jane, trust must be earned.

Beautifully put Deborah and something many have
tried to overcome in their own life. We just
have to realize it is our bodies way of soothing
our soul and it is also our power of empathy
towards others because we understand their pain
or happiness.

so much of this rings true, i think this is one of those cries that umbrella many hearts, a swift ache to be sure, one critique here..

the opening stanza

"Through my years
I've shed more
Then my share
Of tears..."

*is that meant to read 'Than my share' as opposed to 'Then my share'

Good for you! Don't "give" trust. Trust must be earned. Feel better!

Love ya!

Jane
