I want to go back
To simpler times
Stress was less defining
Anticipation more exciting
Lay in clover
And watch the clouds
Change faces
To become a child again
At rest and play
Alas, I know, everything goes forward
As sure as a day has twenty four hours
Not all changes are for the common good
But changes there must be, even in US
You have hit the nail on the . . . er . . . what was that . . . Never mind, I didn't have such a great childhood, but looking back there were many, many moments when I "Lay in clover / And watch the clouds" overhead and was at peace with the world. For the first time in my life I'm thinking if I could go back I wouldn't do as I did before. Very nicely written, and it made me think . . . really think . . .
A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.
