I'm with Ronald on this one...What Meryl said had nothing to do with politics. She didn't even mention any names. She spoke from the heart, like any great entertainer should.
She's very intelligent and has played the roles of some of the most political figures in the 20th century. Like other celebrities… Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Donald Trump, she has a right to free speech and to say what she wants during her a moment in the spotlight of the Foreign Press awards for excellence. Over the years, many have used this platform for making similar statements with a large audience watching.
As one who has been mocked for my physicality with my arms and hands being paralyzed and a pronounced limp, I caught her message very well. When he said those things, Trump was not being "politically incorrect." Trump's response to a question by a legitimate member of the press was to bully him by that hideous mimicry that he is so good at doing. A bully is a bully and anyone can spot one unless they are brainwashed.
