It’s easy to think on ourselves all the time, ignoring the often forgotten beginnings.

River’s Middle C
How lonely
That in between place
Where water from trickle
Modulates its wake
Both up
Then down
Forging through obstacle
Embracing half tones of engagement
Carrying its merging forth
Becoming a torrent
Containing both high
And low resonance
Searching for connective tremolo as one
Finding finally it too must give way
To sensory reaches beyond
Contribute its journey
And enter proudly
Its declivity to ocean
Could there be…
Lessons here
This forever gathering of momentum
Energy’s tenacity
Starting as a middle fulcrum
Branching its reach beyond scale
Resounding with ebb and flow
Gathering power
Forever forging ahead
Remaining of purpose
The most of what it can
And then…?
Hearing its echo
As octaves of glory
Reaching skyward
Even as it enjoins fathoms below
Becoming one with all
Irrigation of tomorrow’s future
This once
Middle C
This springboard arch
Of life’s sustenance
lyrical and sensuous, a more relaxed
delivery than your usual
but fine writing as always
