Chameleon Vapor

As in all of Nature, the importance of weeping, of purging the tempest in any form, becomes clear as we pay attention. (Image Barre Muckraker)

Poem Artwork
Chameleon Vapor
by Odin Roark

The living cling,
Avoiding confrontation,
Awaiting destiny’s verdict.

Eventually control acquiesces,
Becoming a percolate of moisture,
A tear’s birth unexpected,
Denying determination’s will.

Involuntary it becomes,
This seeping aqua so innocent,
Finding unexpected emotion
Has no where to go.

We remain mystified with this reluctant moment,
Forgetting perhaps that release,
Separation and purge evolved
From Creation’s intrinsic wisdom,
Converting a lifeless world
Into one of Cumulus billows,
Infinity’s fathomless droplet becoming
Rain,
Streams,
Rivers,
Oceans...
Us.

And like us,
Much of life resides beneath the surface,
Where gathering impetus,
Often creates unendurable pressure.

Eruption becomes inevitable
And just as cosmic passion disrupted
Allows little preparation,
We too sense all distant shores require
Ebb and tide,
Reflux and flow,
Rise and fall,
Sadness and joy.

And so…

Lest we forget,
Whether for growth or erosion,
A raindrop,
Hurricane,
Or Tsunami,
Our miniscule tears
Are tenderly guised
As one of nature’s chameleon vapors,
Exacting precious moments
In life’s perpetual wonderment.

Quite the clinical analysis of passion. I would ask, Where does being begin? Would it be so wrong to succumb to our baser instincts and to cast our acquired empirical considerations to the wind? Is this the IT that is what it is? M.True

Indeed a touching cogitation, Kent. Well done.
"There is a sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of weakness but of power.
They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues.
They are messengers of overwhelming grief
and unspeakable love."

Tears serve their purpose well, as you have so eloquently described.

Good descriptions here , and tears do add to the point of it all. I let tears flow freely, and wind up not accomplishing much of anything though.

Well written! I think I've gone through them all.
