Rainy Day Watercolors
by Odin Roark
Shards of brittle disappointment
cascade toward cavernous asylum
deep beneath judgment’s layers
where pain holds court,
its faceless clock
forever ticking endless sentences.
Such is the place
where memory’s tenacious tentacles
conduct ghost-like stringed adagios
embraced by down-filled boundaries of time.
Peering upon the ethereal canvas,
mortality’s hourglass of lessons
trickles endlessly into memorial sanctuaries,
where life’s ethereal architecture
once occupied with heavy-laden purpose
now peacefully whispers its watercolors in the rain.
