Brain-Friendly Mind

Arguably, the brain is hardware.
the mind its essential software.

Essential knows about consciousness,
for without such means to access
this ever-ready instrument of power,
this human ability to make choices and decisions,
might as a gift never exist.

Oh, how depressing the thought of its absence,
its sinking into oblivion,
giving center-stage to the supernatural mantra:
“faith is outside the realm of empirical understanding.”

Consider a dolphin of curiosity,
confronting a zoned-out meth-head,
or a blind-sided politician,
or an insecure mother or father seeking self-worth
through procreation upon procreation upon procreation, ad nausea,
with but smiling willingness to enjoin the habit of masses,
obviating the connecting of mind to mind,
embracing ignorance as existence,
boring even the intellect of a dorsal-identified mammal.

Why is it then,
that man continues to utilize his brain to pursue
gratification of the flesh at the expense
of mind’s need for intellectual arousal?

No, such advocacy is not suggesting everyone is an Einstein,
but merely though observational result,
a plea, if you will,
for all beings of sentient ability,
to give credence to that software of mind,
that patient supporter of brain-power,
wanting only to be acknowledged and used
before enjoining the death of reason,
and the reality of what was missed,
and perhaps...
what is next.
