Poem Artwork
Tears Unrealized
by Odin Roark

Sunlit days might have served the beginning.

Full moonlit nights might have fostered continuing.

But such were the stillbirths of our effort,
emotion's leaves falling
without color in the fall.

Then was heard a piano,
a simple scale,
stumbling fingers,
a child learning,
pausing,
allowing laughter of joy,
accepting imperfection as perfect.

Listening,
we succumbed,
lowering our heads in shame,
not for our weeping,
but for having carried tears unrealized so long

Poignant. Relating an experience of tears of joy.

I find myself not tearful most of the time. But every once in a while, when I least expect it, I cry.

The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears. "There is sacredness in tears. They are not the sign of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love." Washington Irving.
A touching piece Poet. Regards... rlc

Simply beautiful, from idea to execution. Again, we are on the same wave length. I wrote a poem today that I will post soon entitled "Not Just the Eyes That Weep. Uncanny. John
