Candied Politics

Ah, politics. Wouldn’t be grand if all of this sweet nothingness could be pulverized into cotton candy for easy consumption, instead of the interminable taste-test indulgence we’re asked to participate in? Can’t wait for the next round of their sweet-tooth altered reality. Can you? (Image by dietshare)

Candied Politics
By Odin Roark
Pralines,
Nuggets,
White chocolate,
Dark chocolate,
Nuts and fruits,
Covered with seduction,
Laced with mind-games,
Guised as jobs,
Loans,
Reform.
And all ordained in duplicity’s temperature,
Where gavel-sounds rule,
Ayes taste pleasure,
Nays chew compromise,
Mastication rules delay.
How long will we continue to be served
Candy flavored promises,
Incessantly crowned by colorful sprinkles,
Fooling us with razzle-dazzle?
Michael D.
I also detected some sour grapes and bitter pills… Didn't you? Was there enough candy pander to get that taste out of our mouths?
