Poem Artwork
Plastic Friend
by Odin Roark

I peer up with crooked neck,
shyly connecting with a friend,
awaiting today's journey in his frayed lapel.

Like my homeless companion,
I just want to continue my sense of worth.

How perfect this vagabond marriage;
a plastic flower adorning ignored struggle.
an earnest imitation together,
wanting so to stay real for each other.

We walk our walk,
and sometimes, talk our talk,
hoping you’ll notice our smiles…

It’s all we have left.

As is proven by this very compelling and potent piece... You, my friend, have a lot more left than that. Rxx

Oh I don't think so! Not as long as there's pens,
as long as there's ink (or just a PC and Odin to think),
as long as there are imaginations willing to soar
you'll be here to guide to that far away shore!

yes, communication is the greatest among the blessings the men are endowed with from above in its various forms of bottomless imagination. . . since every single person consists of at least two opposed parts, this is what no one can bereave it from him/her. Cheers, alex

You've tapped in to a spreading American phenomenon, sadly-last brave bulwark against awareness, depression, surrender. Where is the moral outrage, energy, defiance? Really good, that 'vagabond marriage' part.

Poignantly real. It could be a pigeon or a stray dog. Even old age is sometimes something to look up to with bright eyes.
