For a humanist, every day is just another day to discover more about saving the light from polluted clouds of irresponsibility and greed. (Image by Trumbir)

Light’s Enormity
by Odin Roark
IT comes unannounced,
a glistening tether winds through dawn’s grass,
from branch to outcrop,
summit to sea,
mindful daily reparations
through moon and sunlit shadows.
ITS messenger of leafy talls and shorts
morphing shards of sudden light daring,
to grow,
to scorch,
to prepare.
Days appear in costume transparent,
or gilded in roguish armor,
IT sits upon my shoulder,
voicing choruses or caution,
reminding me of harmonies
often difficult to find.
Time mirrors ITS midnight cloud
to midday storms,
espousing rewards arrival,
often by sacrifice’s carriage.
Sometimes,
Light’s pendulum pauses.
The hourglass exhausts its anticipation.
breath’s stream meanders backward
to one’s tributary maze
to ocean’s expanse,
For today’s offering…
Respite stays asunder,
non-expectancy clears,
the flutter of leaves,
the new sprouts from memories’ compost,
the opaque echo of pst,
each becoming gentle overtones
for today’s discovery.
To be embraced,
to be caressed
as remembrance’s echoes,
melting icy shards of discontent,
ready to quench tomorrow’s parched courage…
should it be necessary.
To trust the journey knows ITS all,
is to know deserts come,
as oceans disappear,
into dust of who we were,
dust of who we will become.
Fortunately, …
Perpetuity
knows only life.
The bliss of IT.
The all of IT.
IT
continues to exist,
always arriving at dawn,
moonlit at night.
All for those willing
to take on light’s enormity,
accepting both humankind’s
and ITS responsibility.
Love ya!
