THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

An early poem sketched out as cast and crew waited for the sunrise to present the perfect light for the scene from, “Bench At the Edge.”

Poem Artwork
The Edge is Ever Changing
by Odin Roark

THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING
A canvas of darkness.
A panel of warmth.
A shaft of light.

THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING
Memories of night begin to fade.
The red spreads its orange wings.
A quiet Canyon Land begins to awake

THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING
A sky of rippled light.
Plateaus stacked of reflecting history.
The strokes of a patient beginning.

THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING
The sudden seeping of red.
The colors of translucent direction.
The blue, the green, the orange.

THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING
The light is transformed.
A sunrise brush has enveloped the night
The canvas is now a soft welcome to Nature’s brilliance.

How perfect this.

THE EDGE IS EVER CHANGING...CHANGING...CHANGING

Like the photographer's practiced eye, the poet waits for the right moment to write about the scene unfolding, changing as the sun gradually moves over the horizon and into a different angle, creating nuances of color previously unseen. Almost as cool as being there.

that's right -- 'the edge is ever changing,' as it is never one; hence a true perfection is to be in the middle between the edges. . . A kaleidoscope of what is constant. Cheers, alex

The poem is a panorama of perpetual change and celebrates it accordingly. Glorious. John

For a moment I thought you had ended with a question, but you had no doubts about it and ended with an exclamation of wonder and excitement. And that was also perfect.
