It seems so easy to take for granted the seasonal changes, but concern for climate change, small or large as man's impact may be, we must remain conscious that our innate solipsistic narcissism is not something our aesthetic nature can ignore...try as we might. This is but one journey.

Anxious Travel
by Odin Roark
Once traveled,
looking back is a
smoke filled window.
Once traveled,
the gray windows rattle their endless resentment,
as the wind changes with no effect.
But the changes,
the rattles,
the pollution tinted windows,
oh, how sweet their receding motion.
Oh, how rewarding to breathe the air of uphill movement,
the atmosphere of struggling roots,
of rustling branches,
of open spaces crying to be filled
with fresh starts,
with visions,
with excavations of the mind,
revealing life’s tempestuous truth.
Yes, there are directions into endless detours,
with paths, trails roads leading nowhere
but everywhere,
a cosmos ready for anxious travel.
