Heart, Mind and Treachery

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

With Washington’s political climate working itself up to nuclear
proportions, one has to wonder how long before innocents find themselves nonexistent.

Poem Artwork
Heart, Mind and Treachery
by Odin Roark

As the so-called leadership surges forward,
the political battle field is further strewn
with shattered armament scattered beneath
bloviated rhetoric continuing to further
innocent people’s ignorance.

Thus…

Continues the waiting for another dawn,
another lifting of clouds,
imploring the disappearance of sacrificial dualism,
that place where altruistic lies and solipsistic conceit
continue moving closer to humanity’s obliteration.

These Neanderthals of mind
will charge again on tomorrows to come,
challenging people’s indomitable resolve
to resuscitate a system,
an arterial bastion of energy flow
to nourish the blood of moral consciousness.

Yes…

You of treacherous mind and heart
must once again consider
the strength of a nation’s determination
to do the right thing.

For…

Even as you would have your engorged oligarchic rule
destroy human dignity for the sake
of a few over-stuffed chairs of power,
you will ultimately succumb and be but rubble
beneath a determined resolve by either enemies or
those of integrity fighting to bring back honest leadership.

The tendency for stalwart foot dragging Neanderthalic has-beens to wax bellicose with conspiracies, fear of security, and need for armament amid imminent danger requiring retaliation, is telling of a growing insanity.

Can't say it any better than John. Neanderthal minds and neo-cons will never learn. And then throw religion in that mix, and conditions are ripe for destruction.

Your phrase, Neanderthals of mind, has got to sum it up, as it devours and "destroys human dignity for the sake of a few over-stuffed chairs of power." Truer words were never spoken. When will it end, if ever, but at the end. John
