Discovering Twirly Things
Loneliness,
the ever-aware sadness buried
did stumble about untouched,
awaiting enigma’s shadow
to rise into the light.
Came that special day,
the young boy made simple discovery.
did awaken curled atop summer grass.
So unadorned came the moment,
while laying upon his back,
a mere release of breath
sent dandelion umbrellas afloat,
their landing a magical message upon his chest…
“Awaken your heart,”
did they whisper,
“For challenge awaits
beyond youthful innocence.”
So many years trailed behind
among trampled grasses of trial and error,
where memory’s favorite messenger,
this weed of delicate flight
remained his companion of conscience,
childhood’s subliminal gift.
How precious was discovery,
introduced once as a gently landing twirly thing,
quietly delivering an inexplicable lesson of love,
life's protection for vulnerable tenderness.

childhood's subliminal gift."
Those two lines tell us so much about ourselves. Beautiful!!! I connect with the smell of clover.
Love ya!
