While thinking about the capacities we have to flourish, or wither and die, it occurred to me that it’s really the creative choices we make that determine the concave or convex nature of our lives. (Image by storm fergasen)

Creation 1
Start
Make a moment
mean as such,
for time only has
moments to offer,
even as we waste
such precious opportunity
grabbing for the hour.
Discipline
To allow,
for Creation only asks
we make something,
a table,
a poem,
a garden,
a monster.
Pause
Create that which is you,
and forget not
the slam of a bone
upon the earth,
as Zarathustra's cymbals proclaim
a tool of old,
a beginning,
a language,
an opportunity.
Resolve
Go beyond.
Forget not form
as it is but an axis
for either
our own ruin,
or our own invention.
Live
Just as mammals feed their own,
so too do some eat their own.
Let us not forfeit
our mammalian capacity,
reason and choice.
Create
For we can behave
as cetaceans or homo sapiens,
felines or canines,
birds or rodents.
Never blame imperfection.
Remember…
Creation
just
is.
Love ya!
