Bouffant Ignorance

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Sometimes, you get really pissed at beasts masquerading as sapient beings, so…trying to calm myself with some levity while feeling seriously offended, here goes. “A word is dead when it is said, some say. I say it just begins to live that day.” Such were the prophetic words embodied in Emily Dickenson’s poem “A Word is Dead.” Her last line calls to mind another proclamation, “The British are coming. The British are coming,” it’s essence (coming for most students in the 4th grade) unfortunately seems to have fallen between the cracks in the muddled brain of one knuckle-headed wannabe Ruler. Bouffant Ignorance

Get on the bus.
Get off the bus.

Major choices hardly,
lest one defines”horse” as “jackass.”

But…

Ignorance is special bliss
for those who would have Revere
warning the British.

So tell me,
bespectacled turgid ones,
from where did you leave them,
those sounds and symbols
distinguishing sapient from beast?

Do they remain behind your mask sans face early on?

Was it always a scaffolding void of gray-mass structure from birth
or was it a cognitive hiccup that wouldn't stop?

Didn't you learn prevarication fosters inept escape from self
sinking to defilement of such priceless sounds and ciphers?

But alas,
journalists try.

Answers sought amidst
hubristic insulation,
while queen narcissus smiles her idiocrasy and recedes
clutching innocent child
lost in confusion and unexplained pain.

Retreat.
Get on the bus..

Hammer you must those vacuous 140 character defenses for
No-Think mindset leaches what porous gray matter remains,
rendering bombastic deference to the irrational,
vulgarizing consonants and vowels to
side-show thrills ala Putinesque tutelage.

Miles away…

Inside your palm encircled mansion,
shelves of color-coordinated classics
remain imprisoned as leather-bound knowledge,
an author's exhaustion left languishing,
condemned as ink stains in silence,
a mausoleum for Trump’s verbal-chiaroscuro,
entombed by his appetite of ignorance.

WTF

Is communication past its apogee?

Will the working class of wordsmithing
be once and for all remembered as a gigantic misnomer of contemporary literature?

Did the etymologists of history prepare for a demise such as this?

No

Rhapsodizing illiteracy
is not an option.

Dick and Jane to start,
Yes.
Dick and Jane to end,

No.

But what the hell do we know?
We’re not his base.

Such a moronic following he has!

Love ya!

A not so hidden slam dunk on our "boss." Every time he opens the mouth of a tweet, his ignorance is showing. Publicans are even coming out and declaring, "Sir, have you no decency!"

Robust strong words that I'm afraid won't make a difference in what's coming. "Is communication past its apogee?" An interesting postulation. A final climactic stage for the planet perhaps? I would say yes. And for all cultures and countries too. And it comes with a list of disconcerting, maddening, incomprehensible main characters that seriously bewilder, confuse, rankle, and piss off many of us. You delivered your message well, Odin. Peace... r

And, as the Agent Orange himself rhapsodized recently (and so proudly),"I am the only one who counts."

Is that him on a broke-back horse, shouting, "I am coming, I am
coming!" through the streets?

Good one, Odin.

Not his base and happy to belong to the club. This one brought a chuckle.
