Shadows Ever-present
Daytime…
Shadows convey with sunlight as their source.
Nighttime…
Silhouettes move quietly conveying caution.
Mindtime…
Shades of his inner being
lurk in his daydreams,
later squirming through slumber’s protection,
morphing into doubt and fear.
Nocturnal density magnifies intimations,
creating threats of the unknown,
chasing musings into deep hiding.
Amidst temporary safety,
ripples of translucency reveals
a lioness lifting her gentle paws
before bounding to protect him,
fending off undulating guises of semblance.
Dawn…
He wakes to a rising sun,
occasional sounds of Nature,
ceaseless street sounds,
all while the morning’s early bird
seeks the worm,
and somewhere far beyond,
the rooster’s beak opens,
announcing another day of life.
As he banishes the ruse of night,
the aquarium-turtle’s one eye blinks open,
inviting innocence to return,
even as the sun begins forming today’s shadow encounters.
Love ya!
