Invincible Hope

In a world so plagued with pain and sorrow, is hope the only many splendored thing left? (Image by Ksenya)

Poem Artwork
Invincible Hope

The Santa of youth,
When cookie and milk waiting
Was all that was needed.

Today…

Hope trudges through the muck of reality,
Unrealized, even as school affords learning,
Entrance exams allow advancement,
Dating’s Internets digital arena offers options,
Even as reality delivers reality… that’s all.

Hope might come alive,
If adulthood delivered
Salaries void of anemia,
Intimacy accepting sex as only part of the answer,
Hunger’s survival consideration quelled of painful tears,
Even as animal neglect proves to be the scape-goat of human despair.

Optimistically…

Hope can remain regret’s crimson lining
Wanting to be worn inside out,
Where vulnerability is accepted,
Even as courage remains the patient parent,
Encouraging everyone to be fearless of their hurt,
Knowing once down at Bottom’s darkness,
There’s only Up's sunrise as an option.

Good reflexive thoughts where hope lifts spirits

There is nothing that will squell the hope I hold for tomorrow. Nothing remains the same. 'Not even a blade of grass.

Love ya!

The president echoed your thoughts as he delivered his new budget at noon, regretful that it was so expensive, but hoping that the military would get all it needs for its upcoming battles everywhere in the world. And hopefully, charity will take care of all those "bad" greedy money sucking programs that had to go in favor of building walls and blaming the other side for the budget's shortcomings.

It seems he has great hope, but little to show for it.

I, on the other hand, know that young people will not be coerced by all the rhetoric and little progress. They will have hope and pursue programs we couldn't even dream of.

Personally, I'm starting to run out of hope, and I hope that's not permanent.

this piece disrobes the hoping of nowadays as a means of today's attainments. Truly, easy come easy go. . . what is left is 'reality that delivers reality.' A wonderful wordsmithing. Cheers, alex

As every word resounds and reverberates in the corners of my mind, I know that these are my sentiments exactly ...although I do have to admire the quality of expression here.

I have yet to successfully turn my regrets completely inside out ....but my friends didn't knickname me Red for nothing x

There is much to be said of hope, although not perhaps as eloquently as you have said it here. "Hope can remain regret's crimson lining," so true and so nicely put. The poems gives us hope.
