Evil


Vultures in white feathered masquerade
Demonstrating,
Propagating,
Disseminating,
Relegating hate,
But must we tolerate?

For who among us has not wished a cause,
Hoped for peace,
Gazed upon our oft times pointless lives
And wondered…
How do I cope?

Might I find a purpose?

Might an olive branch occupy my grip?

Might I do and be of some worth to peace?

Most of us have,
For denying the small innate voice of reason within
Makes but the inner-screaming of logic louder and more painful.

And so…

We most likely hold our breath as we face
The 21st century outhouse of ignorance-fueled abhorrence,
Evil’s bigotry conning our hard-wired moral compass to succumb.

Sadly…

Hate and ignorance-mongering would have us
Allow the suffocating ooze its directional will,
To control and admonish our moral compass,
Crash and burn our struggle,
Destroy the survival’s impetus of reason.

Like putrefactive tanks of yore,
Rectitude’s ladle-stirred direction
Will most likely be replaced
With another as yet unlabeled echo-infused cauldron,
An evolved vortex of darkness,
Gorging on the failed olive branches of peace,
As the wafting stench of repudiation's sepsis
Rises from the ever so close edge of man’s odious abyss.

How insidious and stealth
This tempest of evil,
Man’s insatiable destruction of life.
