In spite of the economic numbers for the 2nd quarter, much can be argued as to how it came to be. Comparing our work plight to that of our recent ancestors, however, e.g., '30s and '40s Chicago and New York, I am left thinking: How many of us know real survival of the political spin that seems to be spiraling to? Is it time to consider something alternative to keeping our sanity? Beware! (Image by flickr)

Parallel Life
A Matter of time.
From birth,
we ebb and tide
from embryo to a purge upon
the rocks of reality.
Umbilical cords are snipped,
we’re held high,
slapped,
smiled at,
bidden to accept life as—being alive.
Then…
Cuddled,
pampered,
protected,
educated,
extricated from the family,
exonerated of past mistakes,
we’re finally cast to the winds.
Then…
And only then,
the real weathering of currents begins.
How challenging,
this thrust into foreign waters,
the inevitable coming of age,
at many an age,
the "Holy shit!" of awakening Under water,
gasping for air, not knowing wisdom awaits
the catharsis of our superficial struggle.
Alas…
To be denied such,
is to not know that infinite breath,
a form of living that transcends the obvious,
is but a gateway to the what some refer to
as the alternate universe,
the parallel universe,
the continuum without end.
Love ya!

Unless you're talking about a completely new paradigm that once we have completed all the requirements, we are safely ensconced in a fairer, more equitable, place to be rather than our dog eat dog existence.

some of our mental whack jobs into
a wormhole and push them into a parallel universe?
