Creation's Initial Cry Revisited

A window,
chair,
table,
paper and pen notes,

to keyboard and monitor.

Exhausted eyes open.

Light passes through
revealing imagination's kingdom,
where innocence of vision
constructs reality's alternate states.

Instinct rejoices
inviting fearless abandon.

Abolition of doubt
becomes trust's reward.

A sudden breeze
makes restless the paper,
arresting pen's attention,
beckoning ideas to flow.

Eyes gather more light
urging ink's furrowed lines and space
across waiting landscape.

Tilled grounding embraces syllabic seeds eager to grow,
anticipating harvest to nourish other imaginings
where the most arid of minds will moisten,
provide conception and development
perpetuate linguistic fertility.

For…

Only destiny knows of full term,
as gestation differs from mode to mode,
yet writers never miss birth's rewarding moment.

Creation's initial cry.

One's first draft.

No doubt, Odin! The first draft is like going through the labor pains of the writer! What an adventure from that point, eh? You give life to the word. 'Love it!

Love ya!

If this then, is an "exploration of process," it has greatly served its purpose with exploration of meaning. The poet (seizing the moment) and writes his/hers heart out. The words come effortly as he pens his inspiration. As you did within the lines of this effort

Well stated. One must have all the tools in place when that inspiration comes along and seize it to be put down on electronic paper for all the world to see.

Your image breathes new meaning to the phrase, "Embracing the word."
