The Inevitable Eruption

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

The recent terrorist threat is but another reminder that it is not easy to find any justice in the seemingly backward-mentality of Washington who blames the media for the turmoil of the country. Don’t they have any mirrors in the White House? (Image by pinterest)

The Inevitable Eruption

The tectonic plates of governance remain stressed,

Patience wanes

Fissures open wider

While we,
like a mountain in the clouds,
must commit to see or not to see.

Thus, evolves the Bard's question
"...Whether 'tis nobler in the mind
to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
or to take arms against a sea of troubles
and by opposing, end them?"

But "them" is arguably both a collective and individual challenge.

As with Nature's balance,
societal stability can ill afford ignoring obstacles,
let alone "...unseen troubles..."

Doesn’t awareness come first?

Without managing and regulating life’s

mountain paths and routes,
the nature of strength becomes
but a landslide of scree-momentum
rushing toward the hollow bottom
where the dark magma of ignorance
keeps unproductive the valley of harvest.

Can we afford to forget truth?

Even a flower's blind wisdom
feels the actuality of sun's integrity
opens to its energy,
this light for growth,
knowing to deny genuineness
is to wither and succumb.

Is it possible

some seek not enlightenment
but capricious beliefs?

Listening
while banging drums?

Looking
while hanging mirrors?

All the while

molten cores of pressure
await the moment
when shifting plates of change
lose the battle to contain.

Might such an inevitable eruption

provide but humanity’s flotsam as reward?

As seas are large so are the crowds losing the ability to think for themselves. Pity.

Love ya!

I'm not a hater, I am not white trash, but Trump played on people who were sick of the way things were being played out in Washington, and lo these many years. And they gave the people what they wanted. He continues to give those who elected him what they said they wanted. I was a Trump man throughout the election and I am still a trump man.

Hatred can seethe in an individual or a group of individuals for some time, unexpressed but still there waiting. All it takes is a right rhetoric to allow that crack in humanity to burst open and spew forth the kind of attempted destruction that we have just observed. Thankfully, the perpetrator(s) were not as smart as the Unabomber and were caught red-handed, red-faced and obviously, paranoid.

With all the rhetoric, lies and hate being spewed by Trump and the radical right wing nuts out there, this was inevitable.
