Shiver and Flutter
Between double weather pane glass,
you stare at me as I wash dishes,
and I stare back and wonder…
You ought to take a trip.
After all, if you got in this window,
you can get out.
Hell of a place to spend winter, don’t ya think?
Just sayin’…
You ought to try palace living.
You know, like a king.
Avoid the shiver and flutter
of a winter-window-survival.
Bet you’d like a platform and wall made to order,
like a bed and chair fly style.
Add in a radio playing the favorites
of other winged friends lounging in Rio and Dakar,
and around the pool at The Brando in French Polynesia.
Yeah. His island, where pastries are served on inlaid plates
of abalone and mother of pearl,
your coat of arms...kinda, eh?
Really. They have a lot of you guys there too
And…
The best part?
There are courtiers ready to catch you
a lady companion from among the flies
grooming themselves on fresh road kill
and flotsam.
C’mon. Beats hell out of shivering all winter
And staring back at me.
Dishes are finished for today. Damn. Our dreams can be so
unrealistic, eh?
On your own, buddy.
Later.
Ron
Love ya!
