Immorality’s Pustules Bursting
Infection of principle—
like the in and out of shadows threatening,
or the volcanic capriciousness of oozing lava—
reduces morality toward impurity,
poison,
contamination,
septicity,
toxicity,
finally becoming a contagion running rampant,
infiltrating decency and modest behavior,
turning the innocent into clones and servants
of power’s unabated selfishness,
finally infecting both targets and itself into pustules bursting.
What end is possible?

The call for war comes from loose rhetoric from those who have nothing to lose. Once patriotic fervor is sufficiently stoked, the young are enlisted from the masses to do the dirty work. Another generation is setback from real progress. When will it end?
