Then Came Man

Yes, there are many reasons for us to get over ourselves as superior and accept our appropriate place as just another precious part of Nature. (Image by pinterest)

Then Came Man

Pathos remained in shadows,
pain barely invented,
suffering was one with nature.

Then

From somewhere came man,
deserving to be acknowledged,
but lured into contempt,
playing the superior role.

For those in contact with their inner selves,
there remains only one,
me,
you,
everyone,
and everything.

How peaceful humanity might be
if there was a collective enjoining with Nature,
not as ruler and controller,
but as altruist and liberator.

If only…

I'm with you on these wonderful thoughts. Glad that I have not contributed to the awful overpopulation of humans as some sort of conquerors like the Bible states, "over all the beasts and creatures of the land (and seas). I might add, women and their reproductive choices.

I have often questioned our intelligence. We are really nothing more than pack predators with our hierarchies and aggressive nature, like orcas and wolves. Dependent upon our particular clan or family to survive. Finding it difficult to survive alone. Relying on alpha males and females to protect and provide for us. Are orcas and wolves a threat to our existence? Then why are we trying to eradicate them?

Time to get off our high horse and all become "tree huggers." What a wonderful world if we all did.

I love this poem! The second half is a beautiful tribute! The first half describes a horror.
