Self-Loathing Healings

Scar laden perfections,
Are where life's training wheels balance
One's child-like trust,
Adolescent-like daring,
Adult-like intemperance.

Scratches,
Bruises,
Broken bones,
History's incidentals heal easily.

While…

Challenges of the heart,
Stalemates of the mind,
Failure of one's dreams
Make endurance the battle cry,
Invisible damages the struggle,
Protection of identity,
One's survival instinct,
The personified continuance
At all costs.

How weary our consciousness becomes.

For…

Around the corner
Lurks the underworld of lesions,
Trusting not the scars,
For finite as healing might seem,
There remains the lesson to be learned,
Time-released torment to be resolved.

One's fatal wounds burrow deep,
Ignoring the façade of mending,
Knowing all too well
What remains buried
Are teachings.

Damage never dies.

Anguish never vanishes.

The chameleon of pain
Nullifies one's senses temporarily,
Rendering transient peace,
While fate prepares
Tomorrow's pin prick,
Wishing one to live,
Not languish,

Believing self-loathing healings
Are easy to experience.

I'm currently making my way through one of those long-lasting periods of anguish that I didn't see before I leapt. It isn't fun, and I do not recommend it. What's more, all I expect at the end of the tunnel is a tired mess of frayed feelings and calloused parts, and an eternal bitterness that I alone must endure.

A lesson in pain and suffering if there ever was one. So well written, lending insights we never thought through.

In ones lifetime pain and healing occur on so many levels......yes, I believe that the heart never really heals when broken but closes that door and there are so many doors, Odin! Time and love.........the great healers. Forging forward is the name of the game! 'Love this!! xo

Love ya!

Yes . . . This wonderful poem makes me wish I had not drank so much tonight . . . There are no comments . . . WHY NOT, for goodness sakes. The poem says "Ignoring the façade of mending, / Knowing all too well /
What remains buried / Are teachings" . . . Goodnight.
