The Candid Mirror

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

One can only hope Tuesday’s reflection doesn’t lose its grip on truth. (Photo by Pixabay20)

Poem Artwork

The Candid Mirror

Such is the mirror of exactness

Reflecting Tuesday’s lies and truths

Where audiences will swallow

Or

Regurgitate immediately

For love or dislike

Of the mirror

That can only tell the truth

The eye of reflection

That never blinks

But holds what it sees

Until it is gone

Behold…

A tap-dancing mouth of bombastic smiles and emptiness
