Sunrise Waltz

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

One of Fellini’s classic films is “La Dolce Vita” where the conclusion to a man’s struggle to be who and what he aspires is given hope with words shouted across a low tide to his ears which are not ready for the truth: “I can’t hear you,” he says. Yet, hope is all he is left with, as are we, the audience. (Image from La Dolce Vita)

Poem Artwork

Sunrise Waltz

When ocean brine abounds
Beckoning across the stream
Invitation calls
Be honest

Admit mistakes

Let’s dance

For soon

Love's child may walk the distance
Seeking what is known
Nature's essence
Merging
Becoming
One
With
Everything
Beautiful

Such might be the imaginings
Of one whose mind is confined by barred windows
Stretching visions beyond boundaries
Of turret housed rifles
Accepting dark-walled meditation
While guilt’s razor wire dissuasion
Adjudicates freedom in abeyance
Sorrow in exchange

Someday…

Time might invite any of us anytime
For atonement's dance card
Patiently waits
Never filled
Remaining forever open

The free movement of a dance we should all make when "time might invite us anytime."

I'm not sure what you are saying except that the last line would indicate keeping an open mind.

In the movie as I recall our hero is reduced to the guilt of his bad behavior where his position as a follower of celebrities led them down the wrong path.

But aren't we all?

Ron
