Capriccios with Continuance
The end of one's vibrations
Made audible
Made visible
Make tactile
For a Stradivarius
Or a Steinway
Or a Pavarotti high G
Knows not any end
Only distance
Yet
As humans
We easily forget last utterances
The cry of a baby's discomfort
The pain of a homeless wail
The sob of a relationship ended
Somewhere however
The vibrations continue
Attaching themselves
To awaiting polarized matter
The cosmos knowing there remains the next creation
And the next
And the next
When
Sound's resonance
With light's ever present heat
Slaps
Punches
Hugs
Cradles
There continues the listening
The feeling of passionate whispers
The longevity of gentle caresses
To stop
To step out
Into midnight's silence
Is to hear
To know
To trust
There is continuance
I had a bit of trouble linking your poem to your theme, but I know you have a deep understanding that life will continue on with or without us as we waste away our lives in simple pursuits of happiness rather than thinking in terms of long-term continuation of the human race in outer space.
