For…

What of that
which is already mine.

Breathe deeply.

For-ever….

We search,
even beyond breath,
seeking past the obvious.

So easy to forget
for-ever and ever
time will continue,
with
or without us.

For-ever and ever and ever is never alone.
save those who think only of endings.

In this short poem, you have captured something special, something that could potentially endure forever. Who cares about endings when "forever" lies in the wings.

Our selfish genes have done quite well so far. Once we start leaving the solar system, we will have achieved for-ever as a matter of looking at things until the universe implodes and we are sucked into the black hole of our lost imagination.

It's hard not to think about endings, since each of us experience 86,400 beginnings and endings each day. As long as we draw breath, it never ends. But then again... there is no end to spirit, there is no end to space, there is no end to love, and there is no end to grace. Enjoyed. Peace... rlc
