Emotional Bomb

When Anger Finds Its Source
One's inner clouds
Render cushions of comfort.
Rain becomes a cleansing.
Internal sweat asking to be understood.

Amidst this duplicity,
Children might say, "What happened?"
"These big people are so unpredictable."
"Why are they so nice all of a sudden?"

Accepting anger is resolve's first step.
Feelings become normal,
Impressions are accepted
For what they truly are:
Impressions,
Points of view,
Simply
More Kramers vs. Kramers of the world.

Yes

When anger finds its source,
Love/hate merges as one,
Seeking not some desperate anchor.

Instead…

Mutual consciousness awakens,
Recognizing differences
As mere layers of experiences
Vying for acknowledgment,
Not battle.

Interesting,
This emotional bomb.

Without a fuse,
Such a bomb remains dormant,
Difficult to ignite.

But so difficult to achieve a place where mutual
consciousness can comfortably exist...
So many layers to this...
Sometimes sadly, things just can never be as they
once were, and the new ‘consciousness’ has to be accepted...

A subject well worth contemplating...

This rendering struck me like a dagger. I was a member of a large family that was blown to bits by death and alcoholism. Bitterness soon erupted in all directions, and it did not subside for many years. Love and hate fused like artifacts of an atomic blast. Slowly, it all settled into pools of wasted moments. And I am the sole survivor left to sort it all out. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Prince Harry's revelation has led to a lot of discussion of mental illness in approximately 1/5 of the people. It can happen in any family and often leads to the discord you describe in your poem. Of course, addictions that so many of us are subject to, like alcohol and drugs, overeating, or overuse of video gaming, etc. All tending to lead to discord in the family. The latest being, political preference.

Like you wrote, the kids suffer. "What's wrong with mommy and daddy?" A poignant look at family discord in our complex world these days.
