Everyday's Yesterday

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

- Like most, struggling with past sorrow brings on unique future awareness, even after resolve has been met. Still, to have had such an experience and survived, is often what growth and respect for reality is all about.

Poem Artwork

Everyday’s Yesterday

Even as winter and spring ends
mixed temperatures remain

Morning awakenings
endure shadows of the past

Everywhere
good wishes collapse mute

Bouquet openings
become but empty vases

Hesitant touches
forever pretend

Intimate whispers diminish
to but a resonance of silence

The simple music of children's laughter

succumbs to environment's chaos

Rose petals beneath one's touch
finds captivity mere folly

Time seems to stop

Dreams of future
are not without nightmares of past

The taste of alum tinctures
can become forever's aftertaste

For…

When regret finds no escape
and shackles of blame
hold firm inside walls of guilt
clouds remain forever without rain

Everyday’s yesterday…

remains

rime images of joy lost in yesterday's shadow. Where would we be without the potential joy that lies in the future, even if it never arrive. At least it is there beckoning, unlike today's yesterday!

A possible way to find solace perhaps is if we could change our
Perspective on past happenings...?
Our thoughts can be amended, and sadnesses could be
looked at through an adapted lens...

Your words go straight to the Heart...

Best wishes,
Diana...
