Emptiness Begs Connection

Might victimization’s absence…

Bring sunlight of orange
To the gray of indigence

The sparkle of moon's wink
Embraces as an ethereal effort

Reveal the invisible light of love
As shed tears evaporate

Perhaps

For love connects all
Even as the journey might reveal vacancy
Masquerading as substance

Yet…

It remains for all to discover

No one deserves emptiness
From need to connect with one another

We are social animals. Find it very hard to live alone without the assurance of others. But circumstance can put people in the place you have described so darkly. Reaching out to those in need is one way of bringing brightness back into their lives.

You touch upon feelings in this poem that many people will be able to relate to especially during this time of pandemic. We are slowly coming out of it, with that light at the end of the tunnel, but who can forget the "emptiness" of the streets of the world at its height.
