Moving On Day
To anticipate
To grieve
At the metronome of life
Slowing down
Is to witness shadows
Seeming to multiply
Eclipsing familiarity from deepest self
Meadows recede into melancholy
Trees cease to move
Becoming still life photographs
Fearful of attempting animation again
One’s ocean sunset
Is but a brief moment
Eerily radiating the steppingstones
Of a supreme invitation
And then disappearing over the horizon
Rendering birds silent of wing and song
Spirit of cosmic design
Is everywhere
Even beneath the shadows now
As the void of space
Welcomes the interim
Providing the way station of continuum
Even as we but imagine it all
Our time for moving on in moratorium
For now
